Vision

"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded"
(Matt 28:19-20)

With this in mind, we have a two fold aim:

1. With regard to this locality, we believe that God is building up a church which will stand uncompromisingly and in love; a true witness to this area.

We commit ourselves to proclaim the full Gospel of Jesus by word and deed in the community in which we live. By the Grace of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit we aim to demonstrate the love of God to this community. We believe that God has called us to bring His healing power to the body, soul and spirit of the people who make up this community.

We believe that God will raise up disciples for himself through His living witness in this church which He Himself has planted. As a church, we are commited to disciple believers in accordance with the words of Jesus and in accordance with His commission to release each individual believer to their unique, God given calling and function within His body, the church.

2. We have a burden for the local villiages but also for the wider world. Thus we have an aim of ensuring that the gospel is proclaimed locally but also of supporting and helping the spread of the gospel to the nations by prayer, giving, sending out and if so called by God, going ourselves.

Authority

We believe that the only infallible source of authority in teh Church is the Holy Bible - the revealed Word of God. The Holy Spirit brings the Word to life in the heart and mind of every true believer. We recognise the New Testament model of church leadership entailing a servant body of men who fulfil the scriptual qualifications for leadership and who are themselves submitted to the body. To this leadership we all submit acknowledging that none among us is perfect.

By What Means?

We recognise that by our own strength we can achieve absolutely nothing. Therefore we are entirely reliant on God our Father, Jesus our Saviour and the Holy Spirit our counsellor and source of power. Therefore we seek the presence of God in worship and we seek to discern His will by seeking His face in prayer and fasting. We recognise that without the presence of God in whatever task up which we embark, and without the outpouring of His Holy Spirit to precede our steps, all our efforts are in vain.

Having heard His voice we commit ourselves to obey Him regardless of the cost to ourselves.
